Henry and I were going to the beach today. It was a gorgeous day outside. The sun was shining, there were no clouds in the sky, and it wasn't too hot or too cold with just a tiny breeze- it was a perfect day for the beach. I wanted to make up for cutting our date short yesterday, even though it was unexpected. I was busily making lemonade and roast beef sandwiches to bring to the beach while waiting for Henry to arrive.
My mind wandered back to the events of yesterday as I was squeezing the lemons for the lemonade. I don't know if I should tell Henry or not. I'm scared. I'm scared of telling him and seeing his reaction. Part of me thinks that he'll be really supportive and the other part of me thinks that he might run away because he wouldn't be able to handle it. It just adds onto the fear that I might actually be pregnant. I don't want to be pregnant at 17.
How could this happen? We were safe. Logan had used a condom. I'm pretty sure (99.9999% sure) that it didn't break and I'm on birth control. Oh, geez. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?
I had to know. Now. This is torture. I had to know so I can make a proper decision about what to do (if I was pregnant) after talking to Logan.
The doorbell rang and I tried to push my thoughts to the back of my mind. I opened the door.
Logan. Why was Logan here? He was the last person I wanted to see right now.
"You look great," he said, eying me up and down. I looked down at my white T-shirt and shorts.
"Uh, thanks?" I said, a little bit confused as to why he was here. "What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you."
"I wanted to see if you wanted to get a cup of coffee with me," he said, smiling. "Oh, wait. A smoothie, since it's a nice day outside." I bit my lower lip and shook my head.
"I'm sorry, Logan, I can't," I told him. "I have plans already."
"Well, how about tomorrow?" he asked me. I sighed.
"I can't do this right now, Logan!" I told him, a little harsher than I intented. He looked hurt. "I'll talk to you later."
I went back into the kitchen to finish off the lemonade. The doorbell rang again. I can't believe he came back! I swung the door open.
"What do you want?" I asked, angrily.
"I thought we're going to the beach?" Henry asked me, in a small voice. My anger disappeared and was replaced by guilt.
"I'm so sorry, Henry," I apologized, before giving him a big hug. "I thought you were someone else."
"It's ok," he said. He left it at that. He didn't push me and ask me who the person was. I'd have to admit that I was kind of glad.
"You ready to go?" I asked him. "I made some sandwiches and some lemonade."
"Can we stop by the store?" he asked me. "I want to get a new beach towel." I nodded.
We arrived at the store and we decided to meet back at my car. I quickly ran to the cash regrister to pay for my home pregnancy test before Henry could see me. I crammed it in my purse when I was outside. I was in the car for a good 5 minutes before Henry came out. I was safe!
We were at the beach a couple of minutes later. I realized that I had to use the restroom.
"Henry, I'm going to go to the restroom, do you mind grabbing my purse and the cooler and find a spot?" I asked him.
"Sure, no problem," he said.
After using the restroom, I walked around the beach looking for Henry, but I couldn't find him. I walked back to my car and found him sitting in the passenger seat. I opened the driver side door.
"Hey, I thought you were going to find a spot?" I asked him.
"What's this?" he asked me.
I looked at what he was holding in his hands. It was my home pregnancy test...

Going Out (Part II)
*Note: I'm so sorry guys! I scheduled this and apparently I set it for 10pm instead of the usual 12am. I'm so sorry that this is late. Again, I am really really sorry! I honestly thought I set it at 12am! I hope you guys understand and I promise that this won't happen again.*
I sighed and put my phone away. Logan was being a downer. Is it just me or is he getting a little possessive over me? I could reading too much into it and all Logan wants is just for me to come over so we could have sex. I thought this whole "Friends with Benefits" thing was supposed to be fun, not a stressful type thing.
"Is everything ok?" Henry asked me, with concern in his voice.
"Yeah, everything's fine," I told him. "Logan's just being stupid. He wants me to come over. But I'm busy having dinner with you."
"Oh, I see," he said. "Do you need me to punch him in the face or anything? I'll be glad to."
"No, thank you," I said, trying not to laugh.
Before we could have an awkward silence, the waitress came back with our food. We couldn't possibly have an awkward silence while we were eating. I smiled to myself.
After we were done eating, I paid the check. I had to physically wrestle the darn thing away from Henry. He was very insistent on paying for me (again). Is it because I'm a girl and he's a guy and there's some sort of obligation? I hope not, because that's stupid.
"So, what do you want to do now?" Henry asked me. I shrugged.
"I don't know," I told him.
"How about we hit the beach?" he asked me.
"It's dark," I said, pointing out the obvious.
"So?" he said, laughing. "We can sit there and talk."
I thought about it for a little bit before I agreed to go. Henry looked extremely happy when I agreed. I laughed. He was cute. We pulled up to the parking lot facing the beach about five minutes later.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" I asked him.
"I don't know," he said, laughing. "I just wanted to get you on the beach."
"Well, we should actually go on the beach then?" I said, getting out of the car. Henry chased me onto the beach and picked me up. I realized what he was going to do. "Henry! No! I'm going to kill you if you throw me into the water! No!"
The last thing I saw before falling into the water was Henry's grin. I stood up and splashed water at him.
"Ugh! I'm going to kill you!" I said, chasing after him.
"Not if you can't catch me," he teased.
He was right, he was too fast for me. I plopped down on the sand in my soaking wet clothes. Not long after I sat down, Henry came over and sat down next to me. I shoved him.
"Thanks a lot," I said, with a pout. "I'm soaking wet." He laughed.
"I'm sorry," he said, with a grin.
Our eyes locked in an intimate gaze and I got that feeling.
Omg, he's going to kiss me.
Henry leaned in and kissed me. He quickly pulled away, as if he was burned.
"Courtney, I'm so sorry," he said, quickly. "I don't know what came over me."
"Shut up," I told him.
And I pulled him in for another kiss.

Party for Two
I woke up to Taylor shaking me awake. I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep. It was cool when we left my house, but it ended up being a warm day. The heat must have gotten to me. I yawned and stretched, realizing that I still had my seat belt on. I must have looked slightly confused because Taylor laughed and took my seat belt off.
"Where are we?" I asked him, rubbing my eyes.
"My parent's timeshare house," he said, smiling.
I looked outside and saw this beautiful yellow house with gorgeous palm trees leading up to the house. It was simply breathtaking with the warm spring flowers that sprouted outside. I looked up and I was excited to see that the house had a balcony on the second floor. I was amazed that the house was so close to the beach. I looked back at Taylor.
"This is amazing!" I exclaimed.
"I thought you would like it," he said with a huge smile on his face.
Taylor, like the gentleman he is, came over to the passenger side and opened the door for me. As soon as I got out of the car, he threw me over his shoulder and carried me into the house. I laughed and playfully hit his back, demanding to be let down. He gently set me down on the sofa. I was surprised that he had that kind of strength, I didn't know that Taylor could pick me up like that.
"I'll be back, I'm going to bring our bags in," he told me. He gave me a peck on the cheek and left me alone in the house.
The inside of the house was beautiful, even though the living room was a little simplistic with nothing on the walls except for the one painting hanging in the living room on top of the fireplace. Aside from the painting and the leather sofa, love seat, plasma flat-screen television, and coffee table, there were no other furnishings. I admired how something so simple could be so beautiful.
Taylor came in a couple of minutes later, carrying our things and set them down in the bedroom. He pretended that my suitcase was so extremely heavy that he couldn't carry it up the stairs. I giggled at him and took it up.
"You're really sweet, honey," I told him, giving him a hug. "Thank you for bringing me here." He smiled.
"Do you want to go to the beach?" he asked me.
"That would be great!" I exclaimed excitedly.
I opened my suitcase to search for my bikini. I quickly changed, also putting on a T-shirt and shorts, making sure that I had put on some sunblock. I grabbed my sunglasses and went downstairs. Taylor was waiting for me, with beach things in hand.
We left for the beach. After laying the towels on the sand, we laid there staring at the clear blue sky and holding hands. It was a perfect day to be on the beach. Taylor unexpectedly picked me up and threw me in the water. I laughed and splashed him. I managed to get him into the water. The kiss we shared when we were in the water? There were no words to describe it. If I had to summarize it in one word, the word would be "perfect". In fact, everything just felt perfect.
And everything was perfect, until I saw her.
